![]() ![]() ![]() Bruce, I have your "King recommended" smoothing stone. Ralph, I have your knobs - "said the actress to the bishop". I believe it is $1000 - keep the entire consolidated shipment below that. Remember also the Australian limit on import goods before you hit sales tax. That means, from the date they first get some stuff, you have a month of US shopping and ebay sniffing to get stuff into the same box for shipment to Oz. The will accumulate goods free of charge for a month before charging $1 per day. No subscription means each delivery they receive is shipped separately - or at least that was the rules when I signed up. The subscription means they consolidate shipments. I probably do one shipment per quarter so I get a yearly subscription for about US $60. Often, they include pics of the goods they receive. They were okay with the error but wanted proof of the actual sale to make sure everything was okay. With this latest shipment, the seller of the oil cups accidentally shipped more to Florida than I bought - there was a difference between the included invoice and the goods. If values / seller details are not provided with the goods they will ask. They often ask for proof of the sale - which means a screenshot of ebay details etc. I'm not totally convinced the shipping is the cheapest possible, but the service is really first rate.Ī word of advice: be honest with all values and quantities you enter if they ask. Just pay by CC on McMaster Carr, they shipped to the Florida address provided by and then myus consolidated that and other shipments into a single box for me. My order from Woodworkers Supply did not have this problem. to Fri.) What a hassle! If they had just charged it at the time of order, everything would have been fine. It should be reapplied to the card after about 5 to 7 business days (about Wed. So now I want to use the card at HD for supplies I need, and can't. then when they charged the card the next day upon shipping the order, they didn't release the pending charge. Yep MC checked the card at the time of the order, normal, no problem there.   I found one more menu that talked about pending charges. Computer says Im 32.55 overdrawn.HOW CAN THAT BE ON A GIFT CARD? I knew the starting balance, retreived the second deposit on the phone service, then retrieved the 4 charges the same way. I checked the gift card I have been using before I went to HD for supplies this morning. Sounds like they took care of you, Brian. Every company is different and some charge flat rates based on dollar values and other go by weight. I deal with ordering all the time and for many years and never heard of any legality issues on quoting shipping costs. You can't get that service from anyone else in my experience. They have about seven warehouses nationally and I typically get my items the next day and I can place an order as late as 6 pm and still get it the next day. They don't even charge a restocking fee and I can just send stuff back with no questions asked and don't even need a return authorization number. MxMaster is very accomodating and will bend over backwards to service their customers. If I e-mail under my 30 day account I have to call the next day for shipping costs or wait for the invoice. If I phone them I can get pretty close shipping estimates. They have been in business over 100 years and do not advertise which says a lot about them.Īs far as shipping if I use a credit card and email I can get shipping quoted. I do purchasing and maintenance for my company and have been buying from McMaster for many years and they are without a doubt the most professional company I deal with. Darn that Scottish blood from my mother's side!:D Jim. I guess I need to wrestle with myself tonight and see if I'm willing to go out on a limb over this. MCS was very high on their pricing.double MC's pricing.Īgain, thanks. No luck with Grainger, don't show fittings for the S & D pipe at all. There is only soooo much money there to take. I guess the good thing is I will be using a gift card to purchase this with. But this, 'give me your wallet, I'll only take what I need' bothers me, a lot! If for no other reason than it is bad business on their part. I wouldn't mind if they quoted X.XX dollars for handling plus actual UPS pricing. The e-mail I sent to MC last night requesting more information and something to go on was not answered today. I'm thinking MC will price shipping less than the USP shipping and extra price of product, but I would feel much better if I had some idea of what I'm looking at. Their prices are higher, but they do quote a shipping price. The only place I have found so far that I "think" has the same type parts is USPlastics. The word fleecing comes to mind.:rolleyes:ĭave, Phil, and John.I want to trust them. You have to commit to the order now without knowing the price. ![]()
